Description:, The damask rose with its intensely fragrant flower with masses of pink petals is thought to have originated from the foot hills of central asia, however it’s name derives from Damscus in Syria.  The petals are harvested in Morocco both for their native spice mix Ras al hanout and for the manufacture of Rose Absolute.

Extraction: Solvent extracted from the flower petals

Aromatherapy uses:

An Incredible, diverse oil suitable for spirit, body and soul.

Nervous system: A gentle yet affective anti-depressant especially in times of sorrow and/or psychological pain.

Reproductive system:  Has a purifying and regulating influence on the female reproductive organs.

Skin: Excellent emollient, softening and hydrating properties, especially good for aging and sensitive skin.  It is also used in the treatment of redness or inflammation of skin due to its tonic and astringent qualities.  Rose water is also used for its similar properties as well as being soothing and calming for the skin.

Safety: Non-toxic, non-irritant, and non-sensitising.  However, all Rose oils contain a high level of Methyl Eugenol, which is heavily restricted in European Cosmetics, therefore, low methyl eugenol Rose Absolutes have been developed.

Suggested Blends:

Rose Toner: 90% Rose water, 10% Witch hazel hydrosol (or a 100% Rose water),

Sensual massage oil : 1 drop Rose Absolute, 1 drop of Ylang ylang and 3 drops of Sandalwood in 25mls of carrier oil or massage base.

Bereavement pulse point: Rose Absolute 1 drop, Patchouli 1 drop and Vetiver 1 drop in 10mls of carrier oil and a small drop massaged into each pulse point.
