Description: The Ylang ylang tree has large glossy leaves with incredibly fragrant yellow flowers, and produced mainly in Madagascar and the Comoros Islands.

Extraction: Distilled from the freshly picked flowers

Aromatherapy uses: An incredibly intense oil used extensively for its aphrodisiac and anti-depressant qualities.

Circulatory system: recommended for normalising high blood pressure.

Nervous system:  known for its ability to slow down rapid breathing, heartbeat and depression with people suffering from anxiety.   It is believed to be an aphrodisiac as it helps reduce stress and anxiety allowing both parties to feel relaxed and secure.

Skin: It is used to soften and balance the moisture / sebum production with people of either oily or dry skin types.   For similar reasons, it is also a good addition to hair oils.

Reproductive System: Useful for treating mood swings often associated with hormonal changes throughout the month.

Safety: Non-toxic, non-irritant, and non-sensitising.

Suggested Blends:

PMS or mood swings: Ylang ylang (1 drop), clary sage (1 drop) and Neroli (5 drops), in a body oil base and used in massage or as a pulse point

Sensual room diffuser: 1 drop ylang ylang, 2 drops Orange, 1 drop Cedarwood USA
